Makalu 8,481 m Expedition
The Fifth highest Mt. Makalu ( 8,481 m / 27.825 ft ) is situated towards southwest in distance of 19 km from Mt. Everest on Nepal and China border. It is a separate peak and it is pyramid shaped. It has two remarkable secondary peaks Kangchungtse or Makalu – La (7, 678 m) to the north-west of main top . The first ascent to this mountain was on 15 may 1954 and the group were form France which was led by Lionel Terray and Jean Couzy . That French team had ascend to the top form North face and North East ridge. This secondary summit was Climbed by a French Expedition team in Fall of 1954. In 1921 British Everest Reconnaissance Team had taken its first photograph form Tibet side. There are more than 220 successfull summiteer on this Makalu Mountain . The route to its base camp is: Kathmandu- Tumlingtar- chichila- Num- Yak Kharha and Base Camp.
Itinerary
Day 02 : Kathmandu Permit recieve and getting ready for the trip
Day 03 : Kathmandu to Tumlingtar.
Day 04 : Tumlingtar to Manybhanjyang (1100m) 5:30hrs
Day 05 : Manybhanjyang to Chichila (1700m) 6 hrs
Day 06 : Chichila to Num (1600m) 7 hrs
Day 07 : Num to Seduwa (1560m) 7 hrs
Day 08 : Seduwa to Tashi Gaun 4 hrs.
Day 09 : Rest day for acclimatization.
Day 10 : Tashi Gaun to khongba-La (3760m) 6 to 7 hrs
Day 11 : Khongba-La to Dobato (3700m) 6 to 7 hrs.
Day 12 : Dobato to Nebe Kharka (4320m) 7 hrs.
Day 13 : Nebe Kharka to Sherson (4630m) 7 hrs
Day 14 : Sherson to Makalu base camp 6 to 7 hrs
Day 15 : Makalu base camp to higher camp 2 hrs
