Island Peak (6,160 m)
6160 m height's Island peak is most famous trekking peak, which is located in Khumbu region to the north east to Chhukung valley. British team had made first ascend to Island Peak in 1953. There are two way of going to Base camp one starts from Jiri by driving then trek and another one start from Lukla by flight then trek to base camp. The group have to follow the trail which goes to Everest Base camp. We should follow the same trail to Namche- Tyanboche and Dingboche and then we have to go to Chhukung valley and the Island Peak base camp. And for acclimatization it is also good idea to go to Kallapathar and Everest base camp instead fo staying around dingboche and chhukung, It gives you the chance to see closer view of the top of world from from there. And then return from there you can go to the summit of Island peak. The Island peak base camp is at small valley nearby Island glacier on the Elevation of 5200 m. Form this base camp we climb up steep up to high camp( 5500 m) it takes around three hours . From there crossing rocky and glacier route we will reach to the summit of the peak.
Itinerary
Day 01 : Pick up from the Airport and transfer to Hotel
Day 02 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley.
Day 03 : Flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2646m).
Day 04 : Trek to Namache Bazaar (3446m)
Day 05 : Acclimatization in Namche and visit around khumjung
Day 06 : Trek to Tengboche (3867m)
Day 07 : Trek to Pheriche (4200m)
Day 08 : Trek to Labuche (5900m)
Day 09 : Trek to kalapathar (5545m) and back Gorakhshep (5150m).
Day 10 : Trek to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorakhshep
Day 11 : Trek back to Dingboche (4400m)
Day 12 : Trek to Chukung (3700m)
Day 13 : Trek to Island peak Base Camp (5200m)
Day 14 : Trek to Island peak High Camp (5500m)
Day 15 : Island peak summit (6189m) overnight in Base Camp (5200m).
Day 16 : Trek to Dhingboche (4300m)
Day 17 : Trek to Tengboche
Day 18 : Trek to Namche Bazaar
Day 19 : Trek to Lukla
Day 20 : Flight to kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 21 : Sightseeing or shopping day in kathmandu.
Day 22 : Departure From Kathmandu
