Dudh Kund Trek



Dudh Kunda is our Trekking Destination. This Dudh kunda trekking includes a beautiful trekking trail in the Everest region lower part. Dudh Kunda (literally means milky lake) believed to be a holy lake and the locals believe that taking a dip in the holy water will have their wishes fulfilled. We will follow the route via Namkheli to Junbesi and traverse through Thupten Choling monastery to reach Dudh Kund Autumn & spring season is the best time for Everest Dudh Kund Lake trekking. Dudh Kund trekking trail takes you through dense forests of rhododendron, high mountain pass, Sherpa villages, monastery along the trails. The hospitality of the locals is one of the most heart warming experiences of the trek. If any trekkers would like to extend trekking to Everest base camp, it is possible to organize. This Dudh Kund trekking trail is less touristic but very exciting than the other Everest trekking trails.

Detail Itinerary


Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu (1300 m ) / hotel: We will receive you from Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to hotel and you will have rest / free day.

Day 02: Drive direct to Bhandar (2190 m) / Camping : This is an interesting drive through the foothills of the Himalaya. The road has been greatly improved in recent years. From Kathmandu we will head towards the Bhote Koshi Valley on the main road to Tibet on reaching at Khadichaur situated merely 35 km from the Tibetan border, the only motorable highway that connects to Tibet. From here the route divert towards east all the way to Charikot, then heads downhill to Tama Kosi River with a brief stop here crossing over the river, the drive climbs on the winding road for another three hours all the way to Jiri, and then further to Bhandar.

Day 03: Trek to Namkheli ( 2320 m) / camping : This is the starting day of trekking. This day we start our trek after breakfast and we will not follow the Jiri –Lukla Trekking trail, We will follow the another trail which leads forward to the local villages Panga, Roshi, Siruwa and then we reach to our first trekking camp Namkheli.

Day 04: Trek to Naur (3,550 m) / camping: This day we go ahead to Gompa which is gradual ascending in the beggining and then slightly slope after Gompa from the hill side. At the end of trek our trail goes slightly upwards up to Naur which is 3,550 meter from the sea level.

Day 05: Trek to Pikeykhop (2,730 m) /camping: This day we have to trek upward at the begining and then our trail goes slightly up and down. This day we will go through Jase Bhanjyang, beautiful landscape and we will reach to our tented camp Pikeykhop.

Day 06: Trek to Junbensi (2860 m) / camping: We star our trek after break fast, this day we will trek through the local villages observing cultivated land , people with rural livelihood and scenic beauty. And finally we will finally arrive Junbesi village which is the small market having some teahouses and schools.

Day 07: Trek to Yak Kharka (3,050 m) / camping: From Junbesi we go aside of the river forward to Thupten chholing monestary a old bhuddist monestary. Where we can observe the bhuddihst customes. From this monastery we still trek a head to yak kharka where we set our camp for this day. We will pass our overnight is the beautiful place close to the nature.

Day 08: Trek to Sasar bensi (3440 m) / camping : This day we start in the morning and we go forward to Sasar bensi onserving the beautiful landscape with verities of flora and fauna on the way which make our trekking more interesting.

Day 09: Trek to Dudh Kunda (4190 m) / camping : From Sasar Bensi we start our trek to our main final destination Dudh Kund Lake , Known as lake of milk. A holy lake for the pilgrims. Which is situated at 4190 meters elevation and sorrounded by attractive landscape.

Day 10: Trek to Chuware (4000 m) / camping: This is the returning day of our trekking and on this day we will trek back to same route and we will stay at Chuware on our tented camp this will be comparatevely easy trek.

Day 11: Trek to Taksindo (2930 m) / camping: We will wake in the morning with tea and after break fast we will descend down slowly Taksindu which is the sherpa village inroute to Jiri Lukla. Many people who trek to lukla everest from Jiri they stay one night in this village, the mejority of habitant are sherpa in this village.

Day 12: Trek to Phaplu (2470 m) / camping: This day we will have interesting trek crossing through the local habitant and the rural view with local lifestyle.on this day we can observe the cultural life of Nepalese tribe Such as Tamang, Rai, Sunuwar and sherpa as well.

Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu (1300 m ) / Hotel: This day our Destination is kathmandu and we will come to kathmandu and overnight we will stay at hotel in kathmandu.

Day 14: Departure: This is the departure day. You have to be prepared for the leaving and we will go to airport for your departure and wishing you a safe journey we will leave you at airport at kathmandu for departure to your home.
